Tencent's Efforts in HarmonyOS Native Adaptation and WeChat Updates

TapTechNews on October 9th, Tencent is exerting efforts in the native adaptation of HarmonyOS. The internal test invitation of the native version of WeChat for HarmonyOS started yesterday, and more than 20 Tencent Apps are in the process of successive adaptations.

Today, Tencent has listed the 1.0 version of the WeChat OpenSDK in the third-party library central warehouse of OpenHarmony. This SDK is used to access the WeChat open platform, enabling mobile applications to support WeChat sharing, WeChat collection, and WeChat payment.

Taking QQ Music as an example, in QQ Music, users can share songs through WeChat, dedicate songs to WeChat friends, or share them to the WeChat Moments. In WeChat, users can directly click to play the songs shared by QQ Music.

Open-source HarmonyOS applications can also support WeChat sharing, WeChat collection, and WeChat payment by accessing the WeChat OpenSDK to enhance the native HarmonyOS experience.

According to TapTechNews' report yesterday, the native version of WeChat for HarmonyOS has officially started inviting internal tests. Users who have upgraded to the native HarmonyOS operating system, HarmonyOS NEXT, can get the first-hand experience after receiving the invitation. This trial version of WeChat already includes basic social communication, audio and video calls, Moments, and functions such as QR code receipt/payment of WeChat payment.
