Honor to Launch Smartphone with Google Gemini AI

TapTechNews May 27th news, Honor Terminal Co., Ltd. announced that it is about to launch the first smartphone equipped with Google Gemini AI and related functions.

TapTechNews quoted CNBC news, a spokesperson for Honor revealed that the upcoming device will integrate generative AI services such as Google Gemini AI and text-to-image generation tool Imagen2, and Google Cloud will provide relevant service support.

Earlier this year, Honor Terminal Co., Ltd. launched its new generation of MagicOS 8.0, which has already embedded its self-developed 7B Magic Large Model on the terminal side. Combined with the built-in YOYO assistant, it has achieved scene perception, intention decision-making, and user understanding capabilities. It supports multimodal interaction methods such as natural language, voice, pictures, gestures, and eye movements. It can intelligently identify user intentions and make rapid reasoning and decision-making, proactively provide personalized services, and efficiently complete complex scene tasks.

Judging from the current situation, Honor is expected to launch terminal devices equipped with Google Gemini AI and related functions for the overseas market, while the domestic market will still use the self-developed and relatively mature YOYO assistant and Magic Large Model.

It is known that Honor Terminal Co., Ltd. is one of the few companies that use Google AI tools in the overseas market. In addition, Samsung announced in January this year that it will cooperate with Google Cloud to introduce Gemini Pro and Imagen2 into its devices.
