The security company tried to place an order to 'purchase' tickets on the website. After testing, they found that these fraud websites called the third-party payment system Stripe to require users to pay. This shows that the hackers are not for stealing credit card information, but just want to defraud the ticket money.

At the same time, the researchers mentioned that the prices of these phishing websites are much higher than those of the genuine websites. By comparison, the ticket price of an unassigned seat in the official competition is less than 100 euros (currently about 791 RMB), while the ticket price of the counterfeit website starts from 300 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about 2374 RMB), and even some reach 1000 euros (currently about 7913 RMB).
