Wuhan-based Company to Develop 1000-Mile Flight Range Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aircraft
TapTechNews July 3rd news, TapTechNews learned from the official WeChat public account of Wuhan Economic Development Zone that the first technology enterprise in Wuhan to develop vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) - Hubei Mintai Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. officially settled in Wuhan Shangyuan Quantum + Industrial Park on July 2nd.
According to the introduction, Mintai Aviation is an enterprise focusing on general aviation R & D, manufacturing and general aviation services. The two-seat and six-seat electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft products it develops will adopt the independently developed aviation petrol-electric hybrid system, and the flight range is 1000 kilometers (about 621 miles).
The official also said that in the future, based on Wuhan Economic Development Zone, it will independently develop the first domestic petrol-electric hybrid vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a flight range of 1000 kilometers.
The company's airworthy aircraft R & D team is stepping up the development of new products, and it is expected that the first flight of the engineering prototype will be ushered in by the end of the year, and in the next 3 to 5 years, the domestic certification of two vertical takeoff and landing aircraft products will be completed and put into commercial operation.
