MSI's Claw Handheld Console Update

According to TapTechNews on June 8th, Cliff Chun, the director of product management at MSI System, said in an interview with foreign media PCWorld that the Claw handheld console with Intel LunarLake will have a similar pricing to the previous Claw A1M.

As a reference, the starting price of Claw A1M with Intel MeteorLake is $699 (TapTechNews note: currently about 5,072 Chinese yuan).

Cliff Chun stated that in terms of the size of the handheld console's screen, MSI had considered multiple specifications from 5 inches to 10 inches, and finally the company internally believed that 7 inches was the most appropriate, so the screen of the first-generation Claw handheld was set to this value.

However, after the release of Claw A1M, players反馈 that the 8-inch display screen is more appropriate for some games, and at the same time, this size change will not have too much impact on the overall volume of the handheld console, so the Claw 8AI+ adopts an 8-inch screen.

The launch of Claw 8AI+ does not mean that MSI has abandoned the 7-inch handheld console product line, and a 7-inch iterative model will also be launched after the LunarLake processor is officially launched on the market.

In addition to upgrading to an LunarLake processor and an 80Wh battery, MSI has also adjusted the internal layout of the Claw 8AI+, moving the M.2 slot away from behind the fan to facilitate users to replace storage.

Cliff Chun mentioned that MSI has set a two-year mid-term roadmap for the Claw series, and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation products of the Claw handheld console have been planned.
