TapTechNews September 27th news, at 6:30 PM today, China successfully launched the first reusable returnable technology test satellite - Shijian XIX satellite at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center using the Long March 2D launch vehicle, and the satellite smoothly entered the predetermined orbit.

As known to TapTechNews, this mission is the 537th launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles. In addition, this mission is also the first time for the Long 2D rocket to execute the returnable satellite launch mission after an 8-year interval.

According to public information, this satellite will carry out space breeding experiments, carrying relevant plant seeds selected by Hainan Province, Anhui Province, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, giving full play to the advantages of high诱变 efficiency, short breeding cycle, and more beneficial variations in space breeding to enhance China's space breeding technology level and accelerate the pace of germplasm resource innovation, providing important support for achieving self-reliance and controllability of seed industry technology and seed sources.

Moreover, the Shijian XIX satellite also carries the payloads applied for by 5 countries including Thailand and Pakistan to carry out extensive international cooperation.

According to the official introduction, the Shijian XIX satellite has achieved multiple technical breakthroughs in reusable, high microgravity guarantee, high load ratio, and reentry environment test service, etc., which will significantly improve the technical level and application efficiency of China's returnable satellites and reduce operating costs, providing strong support for the rapid transformation of new technology verification and pre-research results.

The Long March 2D launch vehicle that executes this mission is a normal temperature liquid secondary launch vehicle developed by the 8th Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd., with the characteristics of high reliability, good economy, and strong adaptability, and can support various forms of launch demands such as single-satellite, multi-satellite parallel, series, and piggyback. Its sun-synchronous circular orbit carrying capacity can reach 1.3 tons (orbit altitude of 700 kilometers).
