On July 25, 2019, Sony released the RX100 VII (model DSC-RX100M7) mirrorless camera, also known as the Black Card 7. The new machine inherited many technologies from the full-frame mirrorless Alpha 9.

As the seventh-generation product of this series, the Sony RX100 VII has basically the same design as the previous RX100 VI and is equipped with the same lens, providing a zoom range of 24-200mm and a maximum aperture of f/2.8-4.5.

In addition, the Black Card 7 adopts a newly developed 1-inch stacked 20.1 million-pixel Exmor RS CMOS image sensor and the latest-generation BIONZ X image processor, supports five-axis image stabilization, provides 357 phase detection AF points and 425 contrast detection AF points, and can achieve the fastest focusing speed of approximately 0.02 seconds. It has real-time tracking and real-time eye autofocus functions, and can handle both humans and animals simultaneously. Sony claims that it has the same shooting speed and autofocus performance as the Alpha 9 camera, and can realize functions such as 60 AF/AE tracking detections per second and 20 frames per second continuous shooting without black screen.

The Black Card 7 supports vertical shooting of videos for convenient vertical viewing on smartphones and can be connected to an external microphone. The price of the Sony Black Card RX100 VII in the US is 1200 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 8733 yuan).
