AMD Ryzen 9000 Series Desktop Processors Update Performance and TDP Changes

TapTechNews August 14th news, two of AMD's Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors (R5 9600X and R7 9700X) officially went on sale on August 8th, with pricing at $280 and $365 respectively.

Although the TDP of these two processors has been significantly reduced (65 watts), and the initial price has also been reduced, but the performance improvement compared to the previous generation Ryzen 7000 series is only about 10% or even a single-digit percentage, which may be difficult to accept for some players who are more inclined to performance.

Considering this situation, allowing players to decide the level of performance release by themselves may be a relatively good solution.

In the AMD Ryzen 7000 series, the models with the X suffix have a TDP of 105 watts, while the models without the X suffix are 65 watts. These two 65-watt Ryzen 9000X processors have almost no obvious performance improvement compared to the 105-watt Ryzen 7000X models, and as their TDP is released to 105 watts, it is believed that there will still be a certain range of improvement that can be tapped.
