Apple to Release Cheaper AppleVisionPro Headset in 2025, Shelves VisionPro2 R & D

According to TapTechNews on June 18, as reported by TheInformation, Apple is developing a cheaper but also more streamlined version of the AppleVisionPro headset and plans to release it by the end of 2025.

At the same time, Apple has shelved the research and development work for the next-generation high-end AppleVisionPro2. This move seems to be to give priority to ensuring the research and development progress of the aforementioned low-priced headset.

TheInformation indicates that Apple may resume the VisionPro2 research and development again at some point in the future, but for now, this seems to reflect that the company has temporarily changed its strategy.

Foreign media reports also point out that in the past year, the number of Apple employees allocated to the second-generation VisionPro project has been gradually decreasing, and the most important reason is that Apple's attention has turned to this cheaper model.

Although we have heard many times about the cheap headset before, we still can't confirm the target price of this new product for now, but any model below 3500 US dollars will be able to compete better with MetaQuest.

TheInformation believes that the target price of Apple's cheap headset is about 1500 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 10,898 RMB), close to the price of high-end iPhones. Stay tuned.
