Guangdong Meteorological Bureau and Huawei Sign Cooperation Agreement

(hereinafter referred to as 'Huawei') signed a deepened cooperation framework agreement in Guangzhou.

The Party secretary and director of the Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Bureau, Zhuang Xudong, said that since the signing of the strategic cooperation framework agreement in 2020, the two sides will jointly promote high-performance computing, artificial intelligence applications and other modern technologies' application in the meteorological field to provide strong support for achieving a higher level of meteorological modernization development.

Huawei's vice president and minister of the Digital Government, Wu Gang, said that Huawei will strengthen its investment in the meteorological industry and expand cooperation in more fields and at a deeper level. It is hoped that both sides can give full play to their respective advantages and use digital and intelligent means to promote the construction of meteorological modernization.

Before this, Huawei had already signed a deepened strategic cooperation agreement with the China Meteorological Administration in December last year, and the two sides will strengthen cooperation mechanisms such as high-level mutual visits, daily liaison, information exchange, exchange and study, and personnel training, and accelerate the application and independent innovation of new information technologies in the meteorological field to support the high-quality development of meteorology.
