TapTechNews October 8th news, HTC launched its first all-in-one positioning tracker, the "VIVE Self-Positioning Tracker (TapTechNews note: VIVE UltimateTracker)", last November. The domestic price is $700. It claims to adopt AI-driven self-tracking technology and can achieve unrestricted tracking ability without a PC or traditional locators.
Today HTC announced that this tracker officially supports the use of third-party SteamVR headsets. After updating the latest firmware, including Meta Quest 3, Pico 4 Ultra, and Valve Index devices can all be connected and used.
According to the introduction, The VIVE Self-Positioning Tracker uses two wide field-of-view cameras and computer vision for immediate spatial recognition, which can maintain the synchronization of virtual and real movements and improve the accuracy of full-body tracking. Users can try to experience full-body tracking in games such as VRChat by adding three VIVE Self-Positioning Trackers and one VIVE Wireless Receiver in the settings.
