Apple's iPhone 16 Series OLED Panels in Mass Production, Specs, and More

TapTechNews August 8th news, according to ETNews, Apple suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display have started mass-producing the OLED display panels used in iPhone 16 series phones in June and significantly increased production last month to fully prepare for the September release.

It is reported that Apple's iPhone 16 shipment forecast for this year is about 90 million units or so, while the estimated production of OLED panels is about 120 million pieces, with a surplus of about 30%. By the end of this year, Samsung Display is expected to supply about 80 million OLED panels and LG Display is expected to supply about 43 million panels.

TapTechNews previously reported that the appearance of iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 ProMax is not much different from the iPhone 15 series, but the sizes of iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 ProMax have slightly increased.

According to previous leaks, the iPhone 16 Pro display has been upgraded from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, and the iPhone 16 ProMax has been upgraded from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches. The display size of the standard iPhone 16 model remains unchanged, which is 6.1 inches for iPhone 16 and 6.7 inches for iPhone 16 Plus.

In terms of specifications, Apple's iPhone 16 is expected to be equipped with a new generation of A18 bionic chip and 8GB of memory, with a camera button and an operation button on the right side, and will be released in September this year.
