Solidigm Unveils New Generation of D7-Level Data Center SSDs

TapTechNews August 7th news, Solidigm announced on the 6th local time the launch of the new-generation D7-level data center solid state drives D7-PS1010 and D7-PS1030. Both of these solid state drive series support PCIe 5.0 and are based on SK Hynix's 176-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory.

The D7-PS1010 belongs to the standard durability (1DWPD) level model, providing four capacity versions of 1.92TB, 3.84TB, 7.68TB, and 15.36TB. Corresponding to the 5-year warranty period, the 15.36TB model with the largest capacity can accumulate a write of about 28 terabytes.

And D7-PS1030 is a 3DWPD-level mid-endurance model, providing four capacity versions of 1.6TB, 3.2TB, 6.4TB, and 12.8TB. Among them, the cumulative write amount of the 12.8TB with the largest capacity can reach about 70 terabytes.

In terms of performance, the whole series of D7-PS1010/1030 can reach a sequential read of 14500 MB/s, and the sequential write of 6.4TB and above capacity can reach 9300 MB/s. The largest 3100 KIOPS random read appears on the 3.84TB version of D7-PS1010 and the 3.2TB version of D7-PS1030.

The random write ability of D7-PS10X0 is closely related to the product line: 6.4TB and 12.8TB of D7-PS1030 can achieve 800 KIOPS random write; the random write of 7.68TB of D7-PS1010 can reach 400 KIOPS.
