Threads is about to迎来 the first anniversary of its launch on July 5th. Last July, when the platform was listed on the Apple AppStore, Elon Musk was making a series of radical changes including a makeover to Twitter (at that time), and tried to induce Zuckerberg to participate in a cage fight - of course this match didn't happen.

Foreign media TheVerge reported that a year later, although the user growth rate of Threads is not as rapid as when it was just released, it still maintains a steady growth trend. Some Meta employees disclosed that most of the growth of Threads still comes from the internal promotion of Instagram, and the two applications share the same account system.

At present, Threads is still in a loss state financially. The report said Meta's executives are considering introducing an advertising system on Threads at some point next year.

Integrated with TapTechNews' previous reports, Mark Zuckerberg announced at the earnings call of the first quarter of 2024 in April that the monthly active users of Threads exceeded 150 million. Mark Zuckerberg previously restated Meta's goal of turning Threads into a public conversation application with 1 billion users, and a bit more positive than some competitors. According to Zuckerberg, Threads is moving towards this goal.
