Magalu stated that AliExpress will supplement the variety of products the company offers in the market, including commodities such as fashion and home accessories. At the same time, Magalu will provide its durable consumer goods (such as household appliances and electronic products) to AliExpress customers in Brazil, and Magalu is the market leader in this field in Brazil.

The chief executive of Magalu, Frederico Trajano, said that this is a win-win partnership. In addition to enabling both platforms to significantly expand their product offerings, it will also increase their sources of income: a commission will be charged for every AliExpress product sold on the Magalu market, and the same is true for products sold by Magalu on AliExpress.

In September 2023, AliExpress became one of the first batch of cross-border e-commerce platforms to obtain the license of the Tax Compliance Plan in Brazil, and platform sellers enjoy exemption from tariffs for cross-border packages below 50 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 364 yuan).
