The previous generation 90D card RTX4090D of Nvidia was released at the end of 2023 and went on the market in early 2024. In other words, the leaker believes that RTX5090D will debut one year after the advent of RTX4090D.

Compared to the original RTX4090, RTX4090D did not adjust the memory specification, still being 24GB GDDR6X memory with 384bit 21Gbps, but the core specification has significantly shrunk:

The number of SMs in RTX4090D decreased from 128 groups to 114 groups, and the number of CUDA units decreased from 16384 to 14592 (TapTechNews note: about 11% reduction).

In addition, the base frequency of RTX4090D slightly increased from 2.23 GHz to 2.28 GHz, the boost frequency remains unchanged, and the TGP power consumption of the graphics card decreased from 450W to 425W.
