China Telecom's 2024-2025 IPTV Smart Set-Top Box Selection Results Announced
Learned from the official website of China Telecom, China Telecom recently publicized the first selection result of IPTV smart set-top box products from 2024 to 2025. Nine enterprises including ZTE, Skyworth, FiberHome, Tianyi Kanghe, and Zhaoneng were shortlisted.
From the winning situation of the two bid packages, 8 companies were shortlisted for the 4K set-top box package, and the average bid price was about 819.4 million yuan (excluding tax); 5 companies were shortlisted for the 8K set-top box package, and the average bid price was about 2.796 million yuan (excluding tax).
Among the shortlisted enterprises, 4 companies were simultaneously shortlisted for the shares of the two bid packages. Among them, ZTE won the first place in both bid packages; Tianyi Kanghe won the fifth place in Bid Package 1 and the second place in Bid Package 2 respectively; Youhua won the fourth place in Bid Package 1 and the third place in Bid Package 2 respectively; Zhaoneng won the eighth place in Bid Package 1 and the fourth place in Bid Package 2.

According to the previous centralized procurement announcement released by China Telecom, the IPTV smart set-top box products purchased by China Telecom mainly include 4K set-top boxes and 8K set-top boxes, and the total procurement scale is 20.32 million sets. The project is divided into 2 bid packages.
According to people in the industry, the scale of this centralized procurement of 8K set-top boxes is more than 500,000 sets. Although the overall proportion is not high, this is the first centralized procurement at the group level of the operator, which is of representative significance. In 2023, China Telecom has already started the regular testing of relevant products and officially started the centralized procurement, indicating that the network, terminal, platform and application have all been prepared to carry 8K services.
