Spotify Gets Approval to Display Pricing Info in iOS App for EU Users

TapTechNews August 14th news, according to TechCrunch, Spotify said on Wednesday local time that it has obtained Apple's approval to display pricing information to EU users in its iOS app.

Spotify did not choose to comply with Apple's new business rules under the EU's Digital Markets Act, but instead took advantage of the new antitrust regulations specifically implemented for music streaming applications in the EU.

According to a previous report by TapTechNews, in March this year, the EU imposed a fine of 1.84 billion euros (currently about 14.442 billion yuan) on Apple because it violated antitrust regulations in the music streaming service market on the iOS mobile platform.

Subsequently, Spotify and Apple had repeated discussions on the update issue of this application, and finally Apple allowed Spotify to display pricing information to EU users.
