The biggest change in Pixelmator Pro 3.6 is the new 'Hide Background' function. Using artificial intelligence, with just one click, the entire background in an image can be removed without damage. The tool will detect the main subject of the image and add a background mask to hide other parts of the photo.

After users switch to the Arrange tool in the new version, they can double-click the canvas to create a mask for the layer, or select the mask to control its size and position. Pixelmator says that this makes it easier to complete tasks such as rounding the corners of an image or cropping a single layer in a multi-layer composition.

TapTechNews note: As long as users select or create a mask, the relevant mask tools will appear at the bottom of the screen, so they can adjust transparency, change the softness of the edge, reverse the mark, add a new mask, etc. more quickly.

Pixelmator also supports vector masks, so you can mask a layer into a specific shape. After adding a vector mask, the area within the vector shape will remain visible, while other areas will be hidden.

Select a shape from the mask menu at the top of the layer sidebar, or create a mask using the pen tool to mask the layer. Vector masks are editable, so each point can be adjusted like a normal shape.
