TapTechNews August 26th news, the Future Technology College of Tianjin University released the 2024 freshman enrollment notice, opening the first brain-computer interface major direction in the whole country, and the enrollment selection has now been launched.
The brain-computer interface aims to establish a direct information path between the brain and external devices to achieve the so-called "mind" control, and has shown huge market potential and application prospects in many fields such as national defense, medical care, education, electronics, communication, and artificial intelligence.
TapTechNews learned that the brain-computer interface direction belongs to the biomedical engineering major, gathering resources from the Medical College of Tianjin University, the School of Automation, the School of Microelectronics, the Intelligence and Computing Department, the School of Mathematics, etc., and is composed of a cross-disciplinary scientific research and teaching team of more than 200 people led by 4 domestic and foreign academicians, 2 national "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" scientific and technological innovation leading talents, 2 "Outstanding Youth", 1 "Yangtze River Scholar", and more than 30 national-level young talents.
This direction sets up a thick foundation and wide-caliber basic curriculum system around core technologies such as neuroscience principles, sensing material and electronic system design, brain-computer interface encoding and decoding technology, human factors engineering and neural ergonomics, and implements goal-oriented modular teaching with project-based courses/course groups as the main body.
