A Microsoft spokesperson said, 'The MicrosoftAuthenticator and IdentityPass applications are available on the Apple Store and Google Play Store. We hope to provide employees with access to these necessary applications. Since Google Mobile Services cannot be used in the Chinese region, we have provided employees with choices such as iOS devices.'

TapTechNews quoted Bloomberg's report yesterday that Microsoft will'soon' require its Chinese employees to only use Apple's devices to verify their identities when using work computers or mobile phones. Starting from September this year, they will only be able to use the iPhone for work, which is effectively equivalent to 'excluding' Android devices from the workplace. This measure is part of Microsoft's global 'Secure Future Initiative' and will affect hundreds of employees in mainland China, aiming to ensure that all employees use applications such as the Microsoft Authenticator and IdentityPass.
