Shenshan BYD Auto Industrial Park's Second Phase Achieves Full Capacity
TapTechNews June 17th, according to the 'Shenzhen Special Zone Daily' and 'Shenzhen TV News', the second phase of the complete vehicle project of the Shenshan BYD Auto Industrial Park has achieved full production capacity on the 14th, with a daily production capacity of up to 750 units.
TapTechNews note: 'Full production capacity' means reaching the production capacity of the designed production ability.
In March this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology agreed to the relocation and expansion of the Shenzhen New Energy Passenger Vehicle Factory of BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. The realization of full production capacity this time indicates that the relocation and expansion of BYD has achieved phased results.
The specific timeline is as follows:
August 2021: BYD invested 5 billion yuan for the first time to build the first phase project of the Shenshan BYD Auto Industrial Park.
January 2022: Signed a contract to invest 20 billion yuan to build the second phase project, positioned as a complete vehicle manufacturing base to realize the factory-port linkage.
October 2022: The first phase was put into production.
December 2023: The first phase achieved full production;
2024: The second phase project accelerates the climbing of production capacity and achieves the full production capacity goal in only 3 months.
Among them, the first phase is a new energy automotive parts industry project, and the 16 factory buildings have achieved full production in December last year; the second phase is a new energy vehicle complete vehicle manufacturing base. According to the '2024 Work Points of the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone', this project will achieve full-load production in the first phase and climbing of production capacity in the second phase.
At the same time, relying on the Xiaomo International Logistics Port, the Shenshan BYD Auto Industrial Park has currently become the only base among BYD's major production bases in China that realizes the factory-port linkage development. After the new energy vehicles are offline from the Shenshan BYD Auto Industrial Park, it only takes 5 minutes by car to reach the Xiaomo Port.
