TapTechNews August 14th news, the all-new BMW M5 Touring that was originally scheduled to make its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on August 15 in California time (TapTechNews note: between 3 PM August 15 Beijing time and 3 PM August 16 Beijing time), was pre-exposed today, and the official pictures of the new car have been circulating on the internet today.
The car adopts almost the same design style as the M5 sedan version, and is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine + electric motor. In terms of appearance, the new car has added a luminous LED frame around the iconic double-kidney grille, and is equipped with polygonal headlights. The large-size lower grille and front bumper are full of combat atmosphere.
The new car's interior is equipped with a floating curved dual-screen composed of a liquid crystal instrument panel + a central control screen, and there are several relatively wide long strip-shaped ambient lights on the center console.
Its plug-in hybrid system is composed of a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission and an integrated electric motor, with a combined output power of up to 727 horsepower and a peak torque of 1000 Nm.
For reference, the four-wheel drive system of the M5 sedan can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, and the top speed can reach 190 mph when equipped with the M Driver's Package. In addition, the car is also equipped with a 14.8 kWh battery pack, and the pure electric range is about 25 miles.
