Lantu's New Electric SUV to be Produced at Dongfeng Nissan Factory
TapTechNews June 17th news, according to a source quoted by CaiLianShe, the new all-electric family SUV named Zhiyin under Lantu will be produced at the Dongfeng Nissan Yunfeng factory, which is the production base for Dongfeng Nissan's all-electric model Ariya.
At present, the new car has entered the production verification stage (PT) and is planned to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. The aforementioned source disclosed that in view of the existing factory production lines of Lantu needing to meet the production of the currently sold models, more production lines need to be opened up to support Lantu's further expansion of the product matrix. Lantu Automobile will fully integrate and utilize the existing plant capacity in the Dongfeng system, and can efficiently complete the production preparation work before the launch of Lantu's new car.
According to TapTechNews's previous report, Lantu Zhiyin has passed the filing with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and will be equipped with Huawei's intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving system, providing at least six versions.
As shown in the figure, the new car's appearance adopts the latest design style. The front face retains the light strip of the through design and adopts the currently popular floating roof design method, and also supports the option of a smoked black-treated grille and vent.
In terms of dimensions, the new car has a length, width, and height of 4725/1900/1636 (1653)mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2900mm, positioned as a medium-sized all-electric SUV.
In terms of power, the filing information shows that the new car is equipped with a single electric motor with a maximum power of 215/230 kilowatts (CATL ternary lithium/iron phosphate lithium) or a 160/160kW dual electric motor (multiple factories iron phosphate lithium).
The source believes that Lantu's new car accessing the Dongfeng Nissan Wuhan factory is not only the reuse of efficient and intelligent production capacity, but also a new driving force for Lantu to sprint for the annual sales of 100,000 vehicles after reaching a cooperation with Huawei Intelligent Vehicle BU at the beginning of the year.
According to the information, the Dongfeng Nissan Wuhan factory (Yunfeng project) is the newest production factory implemented under the Dongfeng Group at present, and is also one of the four vehicle production factories with the highest intelligence in the Dongfeng Group as of the end of 2023. The factory officially passed the final acceptance inspection in August 2023, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 units. However, in 2023, the output of all new energy models of Dongfeng Nissan was 41,883 units. This means that the production capacity utilization rate of the Dongfeng Nissan Wuhan factory is less than 15%.
