AMD StrixPoint Processor to be Released in August

TapTechNews May 27th. A source, AOOSTAR-Liang, disclosed in Discord today that AMD StrixPoint processor is expected to be released in August this year and go on the market in October.

It is introduced that StrixPoint is the code name of AMD's upcoming Zen5-based Ryzen mobile processor, which will succeed Zen4 processors such as Ryzen7Pro7840U and will be mainly used in platforms such as laptops/minicomputers/game consoles.

According to the information currently available to TapTechNews, the AMD StrixPoint processor will be built based on TSMC's 4nm process. The CPU part adopts a double CCX design, with a maximum of 4 Zen5 cores and 8 Zen5c cores, and has 24MB L3 cache. This series of processors will also carry up to an RDNA3.5 architecture integrated graphics with a scale of 8 WGP (16 CU) and an NPU with a computing power of 40+ TOPS.

In addition, there has been a 12-core AMD StrixPoint Zen5 engineering sample CPU benchmark exposed previously. In the Blender benchmark test, the median score of this CPU is 270.92, and the performance is on par with the 8-core 7700X.
