Roscosmos' Progress MS-27 Docks with ISS

TapTechNews June 1 news, Roscosmos announced that the Progress MS-27 cargo spacecraft has completed automatic docking with the Poisk module of the Russian module of the International Space Station at 19:43 Beijing time. According to the plan, this cargo spacecraft will stay in space for 173 days.

TapTechNews inquiry learned that the Progress MS-27 cargo spacecraft was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan by the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle on May 30 to deliver goods to the International Space Station.

It is introduced that the spacecraft transported 2,504 kilograms of goods to the International Space Station, including 1,290 kilograms of hardware and equipment for the space station system, as well as experiments, clothes, food, medical and hygiene products for the crew members of the 71st long-term scientific expedition.

In addition, the spacecraft also carried 754 kilograms of fuel, 420 kilograms of drinking water and 40 kilograms of nitrogen, the latter of which will be used to replenish the atmosphere of the International Space Station.

The Progress MS-27 supply spacecraft will also send birthday gifts for the astronauts: a T-shirt as a birthday gift for Russian astronaut Alexander Grebenkin (he will celebrate his 42nd birthday at the orbital outpost on July 15), and a box of handmade chocolates for Oleg Kononenko (a special correspondent of TASS at the International Space Station, he will turn 60 on June 21).

Andrey Vedernikov, head of the Space Nutrition Department of the Institute of Food Concentration Industry and Special Food Technologies, said that this cargo supply spacecraft will also deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to the International Space Station.
