LGDisplay Develops Tandem OLED Panels for Notebooks

TapTechNews June 24th, LGDisplay recently announced that it has taken the lead in completing the development of notebook-use tandem OLED panels in the industry and has achieved mass production.

TapTechNews learned that the display panel is 13 inches in size, with a resolution of 2880*1800 (16:10), and its color gamut covers 100% DCI-P3. It has passed the VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 certification, supporting touch.

LGDisplay stated that this display panel is tailored specifically for the notebook application scenario, which can provide twice the lifespan and three times the brightness of a single-layer OLED notebook display panel, while power consumption can be reduced by up to 40%.

In addition, thanks to the improvement of components and structural design, this 13-inch touch panel is about 40% thinner and about 28% lighter than traditional notebook-use OLED, achieving better portability and being very suitable for high-performance notebooks.

Jae-Won Jang, senior vice president of LGDisplay's medium-sized product planning, said:

We will build on the advantages of long lifespan, high brightness, and low energy consumption of tandem OLED to provide differentiated customer values and continue to strengthen the competitiveness of OLED products in the IT field.
