TapTechNews August 8th news, Ford Motor Company has collaborated with the bicycle manufacturer N+ to launch two officially licensed electric bicycles, named Bronco and Mustang respectively.

Although these two electric bicycles have a common DNA in design, but they are completely different in character: The Bronco model is specifically designed for off-road adventures, echoing the style of its namesake hardcore SUV; while the Mustang model focuses on performance and handling, echoing the spirit of the sports car.

The Bronco electric bicycle is equipped with a motorcycle-style seat and a dual suspension system, paired with Pirelli Scorpion Enduro M hard-wall tires, enhancing the grip and durability on rough terrains.

Compared to that, the Mustang electric bicycle adopts an aluminum alloy frame and has a more sporty design, paired with a traditional saddle and Pirelli Angel GT semi-slick tires. In addition to the standard version, Ford also limitedly推出 the Mustang 60th anniversary commemorative version with retro decals.

Both electric bicycles are equipped with bright headlights and an LCD display installed on the handlebars, which can display speed, cruising range and battery power. They use the same hub motor with a power of 750 watts and a torque of 85 Newton-meters. According to regulations, the maximum speed is limited to 45 kilometers per hour. The 48V 720Wh battery can be fully charged in 3.5 hours, and the cruising range is 97 kilometers, and the braking force is provided by a set of four-piston hydraulic disc brakes.

Ford has previously dabbled in the field of electric bicycles, including sponsoring the Ford GoBike network from 2017 to 2019 and developing several concept models. However, this is the first time the company has licensed its own brand to electric bicycles for private use.

In terms of price, the Mustang electric bicycle starts at $4,000 (TapTechNews note: currently about 28,685 yuan), and the Bronco starts at $4,500 (currently about 32,271 yuan). Both models can optionally choose 10 additional colors, which requires an additional payment of $390 (currently about 2,797 yuan). Ford expects to start delivering these electric bicycles in late 2024.
