TapTechNews learned from the report that NIST will also release a series of protection tools and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards to protect information from the threat of quantum hacker attacks. Colin Soutar, general manager of Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory, said:

The release of NIST FIPs (Federal Information Processing Standards) will be an extremely important milestone.

Although the data is not currently very vulnerable to the threat of quantum computers, this standard provides a more proper data protection plan.

After we formulate the standard in the coming weeks, what it does is to help organizations understand what remedial measures can be taken to deal with the threat of quantum computers.
