TapTechNews May 28th news, Microsoft launched the CascadiaCode open source monospace font in September 2019. It is said to be developed jointly with Windows Terminal, and the official suggests using it in related terminals and products such as VS/VSCode.
Currently, Microsoft has released version 2404.23 for this font, which is the first major version update since the release of version 2111.01 three years ago. This version mainly adds object limits, sextants, octants, large fonts, more traditional computing symbols, and two glyph variants of CascadiaCodeNF/CascadiaMonoNF.
According to the introduction, CascadiaCodeNF and CascadiaMonoNF are native 'NerdFont' variants of CascadiaCode, including the latest NerdFont glyphs as of April 2024. And each glyph is compatible with the rest of the font family, relatively beautiful and elegant.
In addition, the series of fonts all support the ProgrammingLigatures function. Users can create new glyphs by combining characters when writing code, which can effectively improve the readability of the code.
