Huawei Transfers 'Xiangjie' Trademark to BAIC, New Model to be Launched

TapTechNews on May 28th. Recently, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. transferred the registered trademark Xiangjie in the category of transport vehicles to Beijing New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. This trademark was applied for by Huawei in May last year and registered in November.

TapTechNews noticed that in December last year, Huawei applied for several more Xiangjie trademarks again, and the international classifications include advertising sales, education and entertainment, metal materials, etc. The current trademark status is all waiting for substantive examination.

Xiangjie was jointly created by Huawei and BAIC. Its first model, Xiangjie S9, was released in April this year and is expected to be officially launched in July-August.

The Xiangjie S9 has more flat and slender lines, more elegant proportions, and is positioned as a Class D vehicle. It adopts an Inside-Out design that creates an integrated body proportion and maximizes the cabin space. The usable cabin space is up to 3460mm, claiming to benchmark against products such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, and Audi A8L.

During the Guangzhou Auto Show last year, Yu Chengdong of Huawei disclosed that after the Wenjie and Zhijie, there will be two more Jies, from BAIC and Jianghuai.
