Chery Tiggo 9 New Model Launched in the US
TapTechNews June 18th news, the new model of the medium-sized SUV Tiggo 9 under Chery Automobile has been launched. The new Tiggo 9 has a total of 5 configuration models, and the official guide price ranges from $22,290 to $29,990.
According to TapTechNews, the new car is a minor facelift version of the Tiggo 9 series. The interior all adopts a 5-seat layout, but the luxury version provides an optional third-row seat to upgrade the vehicle to a 7-seat, and an additional $600 needs to be paid. The new model replaces the original leather steering wheel with a leather-covered steering wheel and cancels the paddle shifters.
In terms of appearance, the new Tiggo 9 retains the design of the previous-generation model, including the large-sized polygonal air intake grille and the narrow and long front headlights. The rear end also adopts a through-type taillight design. The interior maintains a symmetrical layout, and the center console is equipped with a 12.3-inch dual-screen, including the LCD instrument panel and the central control screen.
In terms of configuration, the new Tiggo 9 is fully standard with active braking, lane keeping, side curtain airbags, tire pressure display, 360-degree reverse imaging, full-speed adaptive cruise, panoramic sunroof that can be opened, electric rear tailgate, keyless entry/start, front seat heating, vehicle networking, mobile phone interconnection, Sony brand audio, LED headlights, front multi-layer sound-insulating glass and other configurations.
In terms of power, the new Tiggo 9 is equipped with a 2.0T engine, the maximum power reaches 192 kilowatts, and the peak torque is 400 Newton-meters. In the transmission system, there are two options of a 7-speed DCT wet dual-clutch automatic transmission and an 8-speed automatic manual transmission.
At present, Tiggo 9 has a total of 7 configuration models on sale, covering the price range of $22,000 to $29,000. The sales data in May this year shows that Tiggo 9 sold 3,614 units. Compared with its brother model Tiggo 8, which is also a medium-sized SUV, there is a gap in sales. The official guide price of Tiggo 8 is $14,170 to $23,580, and the sales volume in May reached 11,618 units.
