NIO to Open 'Valet Battery Swap' Service in 2024

TapTechNews August 20th news, in the 2024 NIO Power Day event this afternoon, Shen Fei, the vice president of power management of NIO Motors, revealed that the valet battery swap will be gradually opened within the year.

According to the previous demonstration by NIO officials, NIO's valet battery swap is a fully autonomous energy replenishment process, where users only need to park in the parking space next to the battery swap station, and the car can complete the battery swap autonomously after leaving the car.

TapTechNews found out that NIO's fourth-generation battery swap station is standardly equipped with 6 ultra-wide-angle LiDARs and 4 OrinX chips, with a computing power of 1016 TOPS, supporting one-click automatic battery swap and valet battery swap. Compared to the previous generation, the battery swap speed of NIO's fourth-generation battery swap station has increased by 22%, and it only takes 2 minutes and 24 seconds at the fastest, and the number of battery compartments has increased to 23, and the daily service times can reach up to 480, and the battery swap efficiency and service capabilities have been comprehensively improved.
