TapTechNews May 28th, Nikkei reported yesterday that BOE plans to build a new OLED panel factory, B16, with the goal of mass-producing 8.6-generation OLED panels in 2026.

The news said that BOE's B16 factory is located in Chengdu, Sichuan. It has broken ground in late March this year, with the goal of completing the plant construction in 2024, moving in production equipment in September 2025, and plans to mass-produce 8.6-generation OLED panels in 2026.

According to the data displayed by the screen supply chain consulting company DSCC, BOE's market share in the global OLED panel market in 2023 (calculated by output value) is 12%, lagging behind Samsung (56%), but it has gradually caught up with LGDisplay (18%).
