ASUS Introduces New Chromebox 5a Mini PC with Upgrades

TapTechNews June 25th news, ASUS has newly launched the Chromebox 5a mini PC, supporting up to the Intel Core i7-1355U processor, 32GB of memory and PCIe Gen4 x 4 storage.

The Chromebox 5a is very similar to the Chromebox 5 launched by ASUS last year, but the interior is upgraded to the Intel 13th-generation Core U series processor, and in addition, more USB ports are provided.

Although ASUS brings more USB ports for the Chromebox 5a, it is slightly lacking in speed. The fastest USB port can only reach the speed of USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gbps), while the old Chromebox 5 is equipped with a Thunderbolt 4 port that supports 40 Gbps data transfer speed.

In addition, the Chromebox 5a also has a reduction in the network card. The old version supports 2.5 GbE wired network connection, while the new version supports a maximum gigabit speed.

These two ChromeOS small computers are very similar, both with a size of 167 x 167 x 46 millimeters (about 6.57 x 6.57 x 1.81 inches), supporting Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, and both support connecting to a maximum of 4 4K displays externally. TapTechNews attaches more pictures as follows:
