Polestar Cars Public Relations Team Update and Business Developments

TapTechNews July 18th news, on July 16th, the former Polestar China public relations told YuanMeiHui that the public relations team of Polestar cars in China has been temporarily dissolved, and there is no arrangement for the follow-up public relations docking work for the time being. On the same day, YuanMeiHui learned from sources close to Polestar cars that the number of personnel in multiple departments on the Polestar Technology Feishu was zero, and there is not a single person in the brand marketing department and the public relations and communication department.

In response to this report, Polestar cars responded that currently all departments of Polestar Technology, including the public relations team, are operating normally. The related external communication and dissemination work is also carried out normally.

Polestar also said that in order to better plan the business development of the Polestar brand in the Chinese market, with the support of the Nanjing municipal government and multiple parties, the Polestar Technology China regional headquarters relocated to Nanjing, involving the migration of some teams and personnel changes.

Another blogger @CheQuanDuoJiaoZhu Dora said that the chairman and CEO of Polestar Technology, Shen Ziyu, responded to her and said Nanjing strategically invested in Polestar and the overall relocation.

Financial report information shows that the revenue of Polestar cars in 2023 was 2.3777 billion US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 17.278 billion yuan) decreased by 3% year-on-year, and the annual sales volume in 2023 was 54,626 units, an increase of 6%.

In June this year, Polestar cars announced that it will launch its electric vehicles to seven markets in Europe, Asia and South America in 2025, and the company will enter these markets by cooperating with local dealers in France, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Thailand and Brazil.
