TapTechNews September 12th news, TapTechNews learned from Baosteel that on September 6th, the hot-rolled natural spread prediction model developed based on the Huawei Pangu prediction large model in cooperation between Baosteel and Huawei was officially put into online control in the 1880 hot-rolled production line, completing the first closed-loop control technology verification of the Huawei prediction large model in the field of steel manufacturing.

It is known that the project expert team composed of Huawei, the Data AI Department, the Equipment Department, the Hot Rolling Mill, the Central Research Institute, Baosight Software and other departments has tracked and verified the strip width control after the input of the large model. The expert team unanimously believes that during the rolling process of 348 strips of strip steel, the prediction accuracy and time delay response of the Huawei large model meet the target requirements, and the real-time control of the strip width is normal, and the verification is a complete success. This is the first time that the prediction large model based on the Huawei platform has been officially put into real-time production control, and it also marks the official opening of the prelude of the application of AI technology characterized by big data analysis in the production process control of Baosteel.

Baosteel said that in the next step, it will continue to cooperate with Huawei and expand the practical experience of the application of the large model to similar production line control scenarios.
