Sony's PS5 Pro Release Date, Specs, and Performance Upgrades

TapTechNews August 26th news, the release date of Sony's next-generation game console PS5 Pro seems to be getting closer. Although Sony has not officially announced it yet, news from developers and industry analysts indicates that this more powerful game console may be about to debut.

According to WccfTech, some developers revealed to them at Gamescom 2024 that they have obtained the specification information of PS5 Pro, and said they believe that the Unreal Engine 5 will run much faster on PS5 Pro than on the ordinary PS5.

A 45% improvement in rendering performance: Thanks to a larger GPU and faster memory, the rasterization rendering performance of PS5 Pro will be 45% higher than that of the ordinary PS5.

A significant improvement in ray tracing performance: The new ray tracing architecture of PS5 Pro will increase the speed by an average of 2-3 times, and the peak can even reach 4 times.

Enhanced machine learning performance: PS5 Pro is equipped with a customized machine learning architecture that supports 300 TOPS of 8-bit operations for driving Sony's PlayStation Spectral SuperResolution (PSSR) super-resolution technology.

TapTechNews noted that currently Sony has not officially announced the release date of PS5 Pro. However, reports say that PS5 Pro may be similar to PS4 Pro, released in September this year and then launched in November.
