Gree Electric Appliances Wins Patent Infringement Case Against Xiaomi's Mijia Electric Fan

TapTechNews July 9th news, Gree Electric Appliances officially released a statement today, receiving the legal document [(2023) Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China, Civil Final Judgment No. 1123] issued by the Supreme People's Court on June 18, 2024. This document requires that the Mijia Xiaomi electric fan involved in this case shall no longer be manufactured and sold, and the infringer shall pay Gree Electric Appliances 1.85 million yuan ($265,000).

Gree Electric Appliances officially stated: 'Regarding the case of the Mijia Xiaomi electric fan BPTS01DM sold in the official Xiaomi flagship store infringing on our company's patent rights, on December 22, 2022, the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court made a first-instance judgment [(2021) Guangdong 73 Intellectual Property Court Civil Initial No. 1399], and judged that its behavior has constituted infringement and compensated Gree Electric Appliances for economic losses and rights protection expenses.'

Gree Electric Appliances also said: 'Gree Electric Appliances solemnly warns all infringing entities to immediately stop the production and sales of infringing products, otherwise our company will take legal measures to resolutely safeguard the company's legitimate rights and interests.'
