Orange Pi Announces Frequency Upgrade for AI and Kunpeng Pro Development Boards

TapTechNews reported on May 15th that Orange Pi announced the release of Ascend310B-firmware firmware packages for the Orange Pi AI Pro and Orange Pi Kunpeng Pro development boards. After the update, the maximum frequency will increase from the original 1.0GHz to 1.6GHz.

At the '2024 Kunpeng Ascend Developer Conference' held last week, Orange Pi and Huawei jointly released the Orange Pi AI Pro and Orange Pi Kunpeng Pro products.

Orange Pi Kunpeng Pro is a developer-oriented Kunpeng development board with the complete capabilities of the Kunpeng motherboard, built-in with openEuler open-source operating system, openGauss open-source database, and Kunpeng Development Kit DevKit.

According to the information provided, the frequency increase will bring the following changes:

CPU Performance Improvement

Official Unixbench performance testing results are as follows:

At a frequency of 1.0GHz, the single-core score of the Orange Pi AI Pro averages 590.6, and the four-core score averages 1932.9;

With the CPU frequency increased to 1.6GHz, the single-core score of the Orange Pi AI Pro averages 911.9, and the four-core score averages 2909.5.

After the frequency increase, the CPU performance of the Orange Pi AI Pro development board has improved, with a 54.4% increase in single-core test score and a 50.5% increase in four-core test score.

System Experience Optimization

With the frequency increase of the Orange Pi AI Pro/Kunpeng Pro development boards, users will gain more performance, providing smoother operation in gaming, browsing the Internet, programming, and other usage scenarios.

Update Method
