China's Largest Oil and Gas Field Changqing Oilfield's Cumulative Production Exceeds 1 Billion Tons

TapTechNews October 5th news, according to CCTV-1 report, the cumulative production of oil and gas equivalent of China's largest oil and gas field - PetroChina Changqing Oilfield exceeded 1 billion tons.

It is introduced that Changqing Oilfield has completed the drilling task of 435 shale oil wells this year, and the newly put into production natural gas wells reached 797. At present, Changqing Oilfield has achieved high and stable production of more than 50 million tons for 11 consecutive years, and its annual oil and gas production accounts for about 1/6 of the domestic production.

TapTechNews inquiry found that Changqing Oilfield is located in the Ordos Basin, with a total oil resource of 8.588 billion tons and a total natural gas resource of 10.7 trillion cubic meters, and also contains rich resources such as coal, rock salt, coalbed methane, and uranium. However, due to the dense oil and gas reservoirs in the oilfield, it is extremely difficult to extract oil and gas from the ground. Changqing Petroleum has carried out a series of scientific and technological research, formed an original geological theory for quickly obtaining oil and gas resources, and mastered key core technologies such as 3D seismic in loess tableland, optimal and fast drilling of horizontal wells, and factory-scale volume fracturing, so that the exploitation of three low oil and gas has continuously achieved breakthroughs.
