Nintendo's Different Stance on AI in the Video Game Industry

TapTechNews September 27th news, 'Father of Mario' Shigeru Miyamoto said in an interview with The New York Times this month that Nintendo refuses to blindly follow the AI trend and hopes to take a different path from other companies in the video game industry.

Miyamoto said in the interview:

Nintendo's going against the trend may feel like 'going in the opposite direction just to go in the opposite direction', but Nintendo will look at the impact of AI on games more rationally and hopes to take a different path.

For example, there is a lot of discussion about artificial intelligence now. When this happens, everyone starts to move in the same direction, but this is exactly where Nintendo hopes to move in a different direction.

TapTechNews reported in July this year that Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said:

Although the recently highly regarded generative AI can achieve more creative content, on the other hand, I also recognize that there are issues such as intellectual property rights.

Our company has accumulated expertise in continuously creating the best gaming experience for customers over the past few decades. We will continue to respond to the development of technology with a flexible attitude, and also hope to continue to provide unique value that only our company can create, rather than just relying on the technology itself.
