TapTechNews September 30th news, ASUS X870E and X870 series motherboards officially went on sale tonight. The cheapest PRIMEX870-P is priced at $319.99, and the most expensive ROGCrosshairX870EHERO is priced at $719.99.
Tonight, ASUS announced that it successfully overclocked the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X to 7.55 GHz using the ROGCrosshairX870EHERO motherboard, setting 5 GFP (GlobalFirstPlace) and 1 FP (FirstPlace) records.
TapTechNews found that this record was jointly completed by ASUS internal overclocking masters SAFEDISK and ELMOR. The whole process was based on a liquid nitrogen cooling system with a temperature as low as -304.4°Fahrenheit. The test platform is equipped with 32GB DDR5 6200 memory (30-36-36-34-62) and a 256GB Kingston SSD.
To overclock smoothly, ASUS disabled the SMT hyper-threading function, but all 16 cores in the R9 9950X were enabled, using an x75 multiplier and a voltage of 1.025V, and finally achieved a high frequency of 7548.68 MHz.
Based on this platform, ASUS successfully refreshed five world records of 7-Zip, Geekbench3 multi-core, CinebenchR20, CinebenchR23, and HWBOT x265 4K.
