TapTechNews on August 10, a market research firm JonPeddieResearch released a report yesterday (August 9), stating that the global client-side CPU shipments in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 10.7% year-on-year and the server-side CPU shipments increased by 3.8% year-on-year.
TapTechNews learned from the report that the global PC CPU shipments in the second quarter of 2024 decreased by 5% quarter-on-quarter and increased by 10.7% year-on-year. Among them, the proportion of notebook CPUs is 76%, and the proportion of desktop CPUs is 24%.
The CPU with iGPU integrated graphics shipped in the second quarter of 2024 decreased by 1% quarter-on-quarter and increased by 14% year-on-year.
The report said that the server CPU shipments increased by 3.8% quarter-on-quarter and decreased by 15% year-on-year, among which AMD occupied 25% of the server CPU market share.
