According to GeekWire, Microsoft has issued a memo to employees announcing that in addition to the normal bonus, an additional cash bonus will be given to all employees as recognition of their outstanding performance. Microsoft's chief human resources officer, Kathleen Hogan, said in the memo that the company's leadership hopes to recognize the outstanding achievements and innovative results that employees have achieved in the past year.

It is worth noting that this bonus does not apply to senior executives, and the specific amount is expected to be 10% to 25% of the employees' normal bonus. To achieve a more equitable distribution, the company may provide a higher proportion of the bonus to employees with lower salaries. Although Microsoft has not yet announced the specific bonus amount, but it is estimated that each employee may receive an additional several thousand dollars or even more in bonuses.

TapTechNews noticed that although Microsoft has a good financial situation and the stock price has risen, it has carried out multiple rounds of layoffs this year. In January this year, Microsoft laid off 1900 employees in the game department; then closed three internal game studios, and the number of affected people is unknown. In June, the company restructured the mixed reality department, triggering a new round of layoffs, and at the same time, news came out that hundreds of people in the Azure department were also laid off. In early July, Microsoft carried out another round of layoffs of an undisclosed scale.
