Toyota Delays First US-Made Electric Vehicle to 2026, Plans to Sell 7 Pure Electric Cars in Next 2 Years

TapTechNews October 3rd news, according to Bloomberg reports, a spokesperson for Toyota said that the company has postponed the production start time of its first Made in the US electric vehicle to 2026, but said it plans to sell up to 7 pure electric vehicles in the US within the next two years.

Referring to the TapTechNews report in 2023, Toyota's original goal was to start production of a three-row, pure electric SUV at an assembly plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, in the US by the end of next year, but the corresponding production plan has now been postponed to 2026.

Toyota is still committed to starting production of this unnamed SUV in Kentucky in the US from the beginning of 2026 and plans to start production of another unspecified all-electric SUV at a factory in Princeton, Indiana, later in the end of that year.
