According to the introduction, this patent shows a product shell that provides I/O functions, which means that users can interact with the notebook through this shell, suggesting that the future MacBookAir is expected to adopt a glass keyboard (typing on a glass plate).

And according to TapTechNews' report in March this year, Apple also applied for a patent for a glass-shell iMac, which means the company is trying to apply the glass material to its own product line.

Although the concept of an all-glass MacBookAir and iMac sounds extremely luxurious, obviously this idea is more suitable as a proof of concept rather than an actual product in the market.

The most obvious drawback of any glass-tech product is fragility, but if Apple manages to solve the glass strength, considering that the MacBook now uses a passive cooling design, using this design can make the notebook more prominent in the water and dust resistance level and can effectively seal/protect the internal components of the notebook.
