Intel and Karma to Jointly Develop SDV Architecture for Future Vehicles

TapTechNews August 16th news, Intel's Automotive Division and the US luxury carmaker Karma under domestic Wanxiang Group announced on the 14th of this month local time to jointly develop the SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) architecture.

The SDV architecture development results of both parties will be used in all models such as the Kaveya electric super coupe that Karma plans to launch in 2026.

Kaveya has a maximum power of 1000 horsepower, a battery range of approximately 250 miles (TapTechNews note: about 402.34 kilometers), a top speed of up to 180 mph (about 289.68 km/h), and it takes less than 3 seconds to accelerate from rest to 60 mph (about 96.56 km/h).

Karma's estimated starting price for Kaveya is $300,000 (currently about 2.152 million RMB).

Specifically, Karma will apply Intel AISoC in the field of intelligent vehicle management, Intel power management SoC in the field of intelligent energy management, and Intel SDV regional controller in the field of integrated architecture to improve the overall efficiency and performance of the vehicle.

Intel and Karma plan to release the SDV architecture open standard. Karma will also provide B2B SDV architecture solutions for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
