Lexar Releases SSD for PlayStation 5 with Impressive Specs

TapTechNews August 27th news, Lexar today released an SSD product LexarPlay2280 specifically designed for PlayStation 5. As the name suggests, it is based on the M.2 2280 form factor and adopts the standard PCIe 4.0 specification.

It currently has 2TB and 4TB capacities to choose from, and the 8TB model will be released later this year. The 2TB model shows as £174.99 on Amazon (TapTechNews note: currently about 1644 RMB), while the 4TB model is £329.99 (about 3100 RMB).

This SSD can meet the needs of the vast majority of PS5 players, with a sequential read speed of 7,400 MB/s and a sequential write speed of 6,500 MB/s, far higher than the 5,500 MB/s sequential read speed recommended by Sony.

In addition, it also comes with a pre-installed heatsink, provides a five-year limited warranty, and weighs about 51.5 grams.
