Apple Releases iOS18 with Brand New Features

Apple officially released the iOS18 system update today on June 11, according to TapTechNews. This update brings many new features such as a brand new home screen customization function and improved dark mode for iPhone users.

Firstly, the highly anticipated home screen customization function. iOS18 will allow users to set the app icon theme, freely place the app icons, and add an option to automatically fill the app icons with a dark color in dark mode.

The Control Center also迎来了 a major overhaul. The brand new Control Center adopts a multi-page layout and adds a Control Center widget library, and third-party developers can provide widgets for the Control Center. In addition, users can add these new control functions to the lock screen to replace the original flashlight and camera icons.

In terms of security, iOS18 supports using FaceID to lock individual apps, providing further protection for privacy.

In the messaging application, the brand new Tapback function supports replying with any emoji or sticker. At the same time, the messaging application adds a scheduled sending message function and supports text formatting options such as underlining and strikethrough for text.

Thanks to satellite communication technology, iPhone14 or iPhone15 users can send text messages and iMessages without Wi-Fi or cellular network through the messaging application.

In the mail application, iOS18 will automatically categorize mails, and this function operates entirely on the device without the need for an Internet connection.

iOS18 also supports game mode. In the game mode, the system will optimize for the game scenario, and this mode can minimize background activities to ensure the highest frame rate performance. The wireless transmission of the game controller and AirPods will also be enhanced.

The map application adds detailed topographic maps and supports offline use.

The wallet application welcomes the AppleCash payment function and the brand new ApplePay online platform, and the event ticket support has also been improved.

The memo application adds functions to record emotions and track goals, and adds an Insight view and search support.

The photo application welcomes the largest redesign ever, aiming to help users better manage the huge photo library. It adds an easy-to-hide screenshot function, and a Featured collection function to help users organize recent photos and suggestions. The photo application can now also automatically group people and provide a brand new Carousel interface for browsing photos.

iOS18 will also add more practical functions such as RCS message support, schedule reminder and calendar integra tion, and magnification of the home screen icon.
